Assistant Professor - Physician Assistant

Job Summary

Reporting to the Physician Assistant Program Director and in conjunction with principal and instructional faculty, this position will provide the effective development, implementation, and assessment of the curriculum in accordance with the University and Program missions and goals and in compliance with ARC-PA standards.

Essential Functions

• Core responsibilities for the open faculty position include but are not limited to: PA student instruction and course direction, developing, administering, grading, and validating PA student assessments, monitoring and evaluating PA student performance, supporting PA student remediation, and PA student advising.
• These responsibilities are core to ensuring that students are provided an exceptional teaching and learning experience and are best equipped to become competent and qualified physician assistants.
• A delay in filling this position will negatively impact the student learning experience.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant
• Minimum of 2 years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Doctoral degree or willingness to pursue a doctoral degree preferred
• Current NCCPA certification and licensure
• Minimum of one year classroom or clinical teaching experience in PA education or other health related field preferred
• Developed organizational and leadership skills
• Adept interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team environment

• Typically sitting at a desk/table
