What to Expect
Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Quality Engineering Supervisor to manage the shift teams of technicians for the Cell Manufacturing Fault Analysis Lab. The lab performs routine Computed Tomography Scanning and imaging for our cutting-edge Tesla battery cell manufacturing program. In this role you will work closely with Quality and Engineering technicians under the guidance of lab manager to perform failure analysis with the highest standards of safety, quality, and output. In addition to people management, the quality engineering supervisor will manage Fault Analysis Lab operations and create a culture of continuous improvement in the lab.The person for this role must exhibit the knowledge, leadership, and drive needed to not only challenge the status quo, but also define and execute the optimal path forward.The work environment is demanding, fast-paced and incredibly exciting. The ideal candidate should be ready to push their limits, as they join in highly motivated and capable team. This will be a Monday through Friday shift from 11am to 8pm.
What You'll Do
- Lead a shift team of fault analysis lab technicians by communicating test prioritization and delegating work across the shift team
- Provide hands on support alongside technicians to complete quality testing, including, CT scanning for production and engineering support, radiographic image analysis and defect detection, and waste stream and parts flow management
- Take on continuous improvement projects within the lab to improve workflow efficiency and culture
- Interact with vendors to troubleshoot equipment
- Enforce 5S and workplace hygiene standards across their shift
- Communicate challenges and successes to the Lab Manager
- Enforce compliance to all EHS policies on their shift
What You'll Bring
- Advanced proficiency in operating industrial radiographic equipment and interpretation of multi-planar imaging
- Demonstrated strong leadership skills
- Detail-oriented with exceptional documentation, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to use technological tools and business system applications to manage, synthesize, and interpret data
- Familiarity with quality systems in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Willing to work long hours and weekends on short notice
- CommandoftheEnglishLanguage, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:
- Be both capable and willing to perform all the various manual tasks involved with lab work, such as safely moving heavy objects, moving large pallets with a pallet jack, handling incoming materials, etc.
- Must be able to walk multiple flights of stairs and will need to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
