Overview

TRC is seeking a SCADA Engineer & System Administrator to support operations at a TRC Client in San Antonio. This is a full-time, onsite role. The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and maintenance of the client's electrical SCADA system that monitors and controls electrical power across their local campus.

This position is ideal for a technically skilled professional with a background in SCADA system administration and Operations, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about knowledge sharing and operational excellence. This role is required to report to the office 5 days a week.


Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational support for SCADA system.
  • Complete daily system checks of the SCADA system hardware/software health. Identify and document issues, present resolution plans to management, and execute closure.
  • Support action plan reviews provided by project teams to support SCADA system patching and upgrade efforts.
  • Perform complex and advanced troubleshooting and debugging on system software, hardware, and networking equipment.
  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of system security policies.
  • Provide SCADA database and display management, configuration, and access support functions.
  • Engage with the team to provide assistance with programming field equipment (Smart Meters, Data Concentrators, RTUs, IEDs, etc.) and troubleshooting SCADA system communication issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and contractors.
  • Gain in-depth knowledge of customer software use cases and support troubleshooting of complex situations.
  • Perform system patching, failover testing, and routine maintenance.
  • Migrate changes across environments and ensure system stability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in real-time.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience supporting SCADA systems in a utility or energy environment.
  • Previous experience with products from one of the major SCADA/EMS/DMS providers including GE, Aspentech / OSII, ABB, AVEVA (Schneider), Siemens, etc.
  • Experience with SCADA/EMS/DMS installations, data migration, configurations, testing, troubleshooting, and deployments.
  • Strong understanding of system maintenance, patching, and failover processes.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent team-building and motivational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly present information to various audiences in both formal and informal settings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • US Citizenship is required including drug & background check.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $80,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
