About the Job

We are seeking a full-time study coordinator (Research Professional 1) for the Zilverstand lab in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Anna Zilverstand, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and the lab Principal Investigator. The lab is part of the University of Minnesota Medical Discovery Team on Addiction, which offers a multidisciplinary research environment that includes faculty from Psychiatry, Psychology, Radiology, Neuroscience and Pharmacology. The study coordinator will receive extensive training in the clinical interviewing, neurocognitive tasks, physiological recordings, genetic testing, hormonal assessments and brain imaging to investigate human drug addiction (alcohol, cannabis and opioid use disorder). All data for the ongoing study will be collected at the University of Minnesota, neuroimaging will take place at CMRR (https://www.cmrr.umn.edu/).

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Study procedures - 80%
*Outreach and recruitment of study participants
*Screening, scheduling and consenting study participants
*Administering study procedures: e.g., clinical interviewing, neurocognitive tasks, physiological recordings, genetic testing, hormonal assessments and brain imaging
*Will be trained to operate the 3T clinical MR system
*Will be trained to perform structured/semi-structured clinical interviews

Data management, analysis and documentation - 10%
*Documentation, data entry and management
*May be trained to maintain databases for data management (Matlab, MySQL)
*May be trained to process neuroimaging data on the UMN MSI and CMRR servers: HCP and inhouse pipelines (e.g., ANACONDA, Python, FSL, AFNI, SPM, CONN)

Managerial tasks, oversight and development - 5%
*Managerial tasks; e.g., purchasing & shipping
*Helping with IRB applications and documentation
*Co-developing and implementing new study procedures

Meetings and supervision - 5%
*Participate in lab and team meetings, 1:1 supervision and career development

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
*BA/BS degree, or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years.
*Professional or volunteer experience providing one-on-one or group support to individuals with mental health disorders.
*Ability to work on-site; flexible schedule (participate in weeknight and weekend hour rotation).
*Must not have metal implants/devices that are incompatible with magnetic field.

Preferred Qualifications:
*Professional or volunteer experience providing one-on-one or group support to individuals with substance use disorder.
*Professional experience with collecting research data from human participants.
*Familiarity with navigating sensitive or triggering conversations in a professional setting.
*Familiarity with clinical interviewing.
*Familiarity with neuroimaging.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: Salary range is $22.00-$26.00/hour, depending on education/qualifications/experience
