DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will perform essential maintenance and construction tasks at Point State Park. Your responsibilities will include repairing buildings and facilities using carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other trade tools. You will also assist in the upkeep and cleaning of vehicles and equipment utilized throughout the park. Additionally, you will construct simple forms for cement work, mix and apply cement, and finish surfaces with masonry tools, as well as lay stone and block walls. Ground maintenance tasks will involve mowing, weed cutting, litter collection, and the operation of dump trucks or pickup trucks for material transport. You will also prepare sites for new turf, plant and maintain trees and shrubs, and handle painting and staining of park structures. Furthermore, you will ensure general housekeeping and building maintenance by cleaning restrooms, offices, and other facilities, along with performing minor repairs such as changing light bulbs and tightening fixtures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. The season runs from approximately March 2025 until November 2025 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay. The employee will automatically be returned to employment March 2026.
  • Shifts/days vary. This position will work 5 days/37.5 hours per week to include holidays and weekends.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
