General Information:

At James Madison University, Well Dukes is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Coordinator to support the continued growth and development of Well Dukes Coaching. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Personal Well-Being, the Coordinator plays a vital role in advancing student well-being through outreach and direct student engagement. This position is responsible for facilitating well-being coaching as a holistic, inclusive, and evidence-informed early intervention strategy. Using empathetic communication, motivational interviewing, and principles of positive psychology, the Coordinator will engage one-on-one with students to strengthen their commitment to health promoting behaviors. Additionally, the Coordinator will cultivate campus partnerships, grow referral pathways, provide consultation, and support the training and development of campus partners to promote and integrate personal well-being initiatives across the university.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Facilitate coaching for personal well-being through multiple platforms (one-on-one, virtually, and in group format) using communication strategies to engage, strengthen commitment and increase motivation to change
• Maintain and establish referral pathways to coaching from campus partners
• Assist in consultation, training, and development of campus partners regarding personal well-being initiatives
• Coordinate campus-wide dissemination of information about personal well-being services universally and to targeted populations of students as well as campus partners
• Recruit, hire, orient and supervise relevant staff
• Support the administrative functions of coaching including scheduling, tracking, and documenting participation
• Assist in the resource development of personal well-being tools to aid and guide students both in coaching meetings and to build connections with additional support services on campus
• Work with the Assistant Director for Personal Well-Being to manage fiscal resources and collaborate on budget proposals
• Assessment and Reporting
• Support implementation and administration of a comprehensive evaluation plan to assess the impact of personal well-being initiatives
• Participate in fidelity measures to develop and ensure adherence to an evidence-based coaching model

Qualifications:

Required Experience

• Relevant professional or graduate student experience (ex: coaching, mentoring or student support services)
• Experience in program development, implementation, and evaluation
• Ability to effectively collaborate with partners to develop shared outcomes
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with diverse student populations

Additional Considerations:

• Experience facilitating student success or well-being coaching, advising, or mentoring within higher education
• Knowledge of current and emerging college student health and well-being needs and trends
• Professional experience in a higher education setting
• Supervision experience
