Occupational Therapist - Hand Therapy

Join our outpatient rehabilitation team as an Occupational Therapist specializing in Hand Therapy, providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population ranging from adolescents to older adults. We are seeking a skilled clinician with expertise in the evaluation and treatment of hand, wrist, and elbow conditions in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive patient evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to help patients restore function and achieve their rehabilitation goals. Key responsibilities include fabricating and fitting custom splints and orthoses, providing specialized hand therapy treatments, completing accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation, and maintaining established productivity standards. Additional duties may include participation in special projects, departmental initiatives, and other assignments as needed.

Patient care is the primary focus of this position unless otherwise specified. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical reasoning, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

Salary Range: $56.18 - $73.99 per hour.

• Current and active California Occupational Therapist (OT) license
• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
• Demonstrated experience in hand therapy, including the fabrication and fitting of custom splints and orthoses
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and staff from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Demonstrated clinical judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize patient needs while adhering to Medical Center and departmental policies and procedures
• Proven ability to develop and implement appropriate treatment plans, select effective therapeutic interventions, evaluate patient outcomes, modify treatment plans as needed, and facilitate timely discharge planning based on functional goals and clinical progress
• Ability to assign and supervise treatment activities within the technical and legal scope of support personnel
• Ability to safely perform the physical demands of the position, including repetitive bending, stooping, sitting, squatting, walking, and standing during an 8-10 hour workday. Responsibilities may include lifting up to 35 pounds without equipment, assisting with patient transfers, and pushing wheelchairs for distances of up to 500 feet

• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential

• Candidates with more than two (2) years of relevant occupational therapy experience may be considered for the Occupational Therapist II (OT II) title.
