Job Description

Avaya is seeking a results-driven and collaborativeProduct Operations Manager to support the Product Management organization in driving operational excellence, enabling agile practices, and optimizing product delivery. This role plays a critical part in scaling our operating model and aligning product strategy with execution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Operations Leadership

  • Partner with Product Management to operationalize intake and prioritization processes for strategic portfolio initiatives.
  • Lead tooling implementation, process design, training, and ongoing support to drive operational consistency and transparency.
  • Support product simplification and portfolio rationalization initiatives to streamline and align offerings with business priorities.

Process Transformation & Agile Excellence

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to identify, design, and implement scalable operational processes that support agile product development.
  • Facilitate key product operations routines, including roadmap planning, backlog management, prioritization sessions, and feature refinement.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by enabling teams to identify and resolve operational pain points and inefficiencies.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage a portfolio of operational projects with a focus on execution, alignment, and timely delivery of results.
  • Build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Deliver clear and impactful communications to articulate operational challenges, solutions, and recommendations.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Oversee reporting and analytics for Product Management, including VOC reporting, operational metrics, and delivery performance via tools like Productboard.
  • Act as a liaison for cross-functional reporting and analytics, providing insights to support data-informed decision-making.
  • Proactively identify and monitor performance trends, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.

Operational Excellence

  • Engage in hands-on problem solving to identify root causes of operational issues and implement practical, effective solutions.
  • Influence change across a matrixed organization through strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

* Drive operational rigor and promote consistency in practices, documentation, and execution.

Requirements
  • 5+ years in product operations, product management, or similar operational roles in technology or software organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in leading process improvements and scaling operational initiatives.
  • Experience with product management platforms (e.g., Productboard, Jira, Confluence).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and hands-on experience facilitating agile practices.
  • Background in SaaS, CCaaS, or enterprise software environments preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with experience in metrics-driven reporting.
  • Excellent project management and organizational capabilities; able to manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Effective communicator with experience presenting to and collaborating with executive leadership.
  • Ability to lead through influence in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
  • Proven problem-solver with experience in process design, documentation, and training delivery.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficiency with analytics and reporting tools, and understanding of VOC programs and feedback loops.
  • Solid understanding of product lifecycle, agile development, and delivery frameworks.
  • Familiarity with workflow automation and process optimization solutions.
  • Experience with strategic planning and portfolio management tools.
