Essential Job Duties |
The
Human Resources Office within the Division of Campus Enterprises is seeking an HR Assistant. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Human Resources team with the administration of various human resources tasks.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the recruitment and hiring of temporary and student employees.
- Provide assistance at job fairs.
- Assist applicants in completing their employment applications.
- Screen applications for minimum qualifications.
- Conduct phone interviews with applicants and schedule interviews for search committees.
- Check references for selected candidates.
- Enter HR data into PeopleSoft system, and navigate through the applicant tracking systems.
- Communicate human resources information to applicants, employees and supervisors; accurately explain processes in an appropriate manner.
- Provide excellent customer service to external and internal customers.
- Maintain program integrity and confidentiality.
This opportunity is for the 2025 fall semester, with a possible extension for the 2026 spring semester. Excellent work performance and professional conduct throughout your employment may provide an opportunity to renew employment and/or advancement potential. This is an in office position and is not eligible for flexible work arrangement. There is a State of NC mandatory 32-day break at the end of 11 months.
Campus Enterprises is NC State University's division of retail and hospitality organizations - NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the One Card Office. Minimum Experience/Education |
- High School Diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Platform, including word processing and spreadsheet experience, and email on a regular basis.
- Maintain a high attention to detail, have superior organizational skills, and work with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively and professionally communicate with multiple levels of employees within the University.
- Provide outstanding customer service, including the ability to remain calm and respectful under pressure when dealing with difficult situations, to team and customers.
- Requires discretion and diplomacy due to exposure of confidential information.
