LMI is seeking a skilled Space Acquisition Specialist in El Segundo, CA to support United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) customers in the Space Sensing Program Element Office.

This position requires an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.



Responsibilities

    Providing the Government with solutions to all aspects of SSC space sensing acquisition portfolio financial and program management.
  • Applying critical thinking and analysis to develop, brief, integrate, correlate, and review various phases of Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution (PPBE) as it pertains to the SSC space sensing portfolio.
  • Delivering solution-based products to Space Systems Command leadership on accelerated acquisition approaches, architecture analysis, and development of future missile warning and tracking (MWT) and/or space-based sensing and targeting (SBST) programs.
  • Operating as an individual contributor and collaborating with a team of high-performing Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Operations Research Analysts, and software developers that directly support the Government through lifecycle systems engineering and management processes to deliver critical space capabilities.
  • Frequently interacting and developing productive relationships with program managers, financial managers, SETAs, FFRDCs, and external stakeholders.
  • Spearheading risk management processes and methods for identifying, assessing, and adjudicating program risk; Conduct analysis to identify program risk areas and recommend/implement mitigation approaches and lead tasks to closure.
  • Organizing and lead efforts across multiple simultaneous studies and/or tasked efforts.
  • Developing documents and briefings to communicate work status, briefs to government as required.
  • Producing various FAR and/or OTA-based contracting artifacts (SOWs, RFIs, RFPs, Market Research Reports, Technical Evaluations, etc.)
  • Interfacing and managing progress of current and potential commercial providers for various SSC contracts on behalf of the government


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in related field with 10+ years of professional experience or master's degree in a related field with 8+ years of professional experience.
  • Significant background in space acquisition, PPBE processes, operations, and/or satellite system architectures.
  • Able to work independently and thrive and work collaboratively across disciplines in a fast paced, dynamic, and small team environment.
  • Strong organization and communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to work within integrated Government, FFRDC, and SETA teams.
  • Ability for occasional travel.
  • Active Top Secret Government security clearance. US Citizenship required.

Desired

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Government security clearance.
  • Five (5) or more years of USSF, USAF, IC acquisition or operational experience.
  • Space domain experience and understanding in Space Sensing programs (e.g. MW, SBST)
  • Demonstrated strong technical leadership, interpersonal, and team building skills.
  • High level of creativity, initiative systems thinking, and innovation.

Targeted Salary Range: $110,000 - $210,000
