Overview

We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP),internally referred to as our Speech Therapist or Speech-Language Therapist. As our Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), you are responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Employment Type: Per Diem (PD / PRN)

Hours: 8-hour shift - Weekday and Weekend hours available

Location: Dallas Medical Center - Farmers Branch- TX



Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    Conduct communication assessments and provide evidence-based therapy for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in acute and medically complex settings
  • Provide cognitive-communication therapy targeting attention, memory, executive function, and problem-solving in patients with neurological conditions
  • Educate patients and caregivers on safe swallowing, communication strategies, and appropriate use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems to support functional outcomes
  • Treat patients across ICU, Inpatient Rehab, NICU, and Pediatrics, addressing feeding, swallowing, congenital, critical care and other communication needs
  • Enhance quality of life and safety by supporting safe oral intake, restoring communication, and promoting cognitive-linguistic recovery


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelor's in speech therapy required.
  • Licensed by the State in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • At least one year of experience in a hospital setting

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

  • MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.
