PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world's most pressing heath challenges.

Under the direction of the CEO & President, the Office of the President works to guide PATH's strategic approach internally and at global and country levels. PATH has set out to expand the scope of our respectful partnerships with national and local governments, with a view to enabling broader and deeper impact across the health sector. Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), including the World Bank, are collectively the most important funding partner enabling progress in the health sector at the national and local levels. In this context, PATH prioritized the strengthening of its work with MDBs, with a view to (1) identify and structure specific areas of alignment and complementarity, (2) define PATH's value proposition, and (3) expand the specific country-based engagements. This intern will work with the Associate Project Manager to support PATH's MDB strategy.

The associate will support the MDB strategy in collecting data from MDB health projects in selected countries. These insights will contribute to a comprehensive library of health opportunities in priority regions. Additionally, the intern will collaborate with the Associate Project Manager to review and identify potential funding opportunities for PATH. The final deliverable will be a detailed library that includes the health priorities, activities, and funding opportunities.
Key activities for the associate role may include:

  • Monitor and analyze project pipelines, procurement plans, and funding flows from the World Bank and other MDBs to surface relevant opportunities for PATH engagement.

  • Extract and clean data from MDB databases and other sources to develop structured insights on funding trends, partner landscapes, priority geographies, and market competition.

  • Identify and interpret emerging patterns in MDB investments to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation across global and country teams.

  • Design and maintain intuitive dashboards and data visualizations that enable real-time access to critical intelligence for program, strategy, and business development teams.

  • Map MDB institutional strategies and funding priorities against PATH's technical strengths to inform pursuit decisions and develop compelling value propositions.

  • Support the preparation of tailored materials-including landscape analyses, pitch decks, and opportunity briefs-that position PATH effectively within MDB-funded initiatives.

  • Document the organizational structure of the World Bank at global and country-level (high level / general understanding. Low LOE) - to inform our meetings with countries/programs

  • Lead or contribute to internal strategic communications by drafting newsletters, briefs, and other updates to keep staff informed and aligned on MDB-related trends and opportunities.

  • Maintain and manage internal knowledge-sharing platforms and content repositories to ensure organizational access to up-to-date intelligence and tools, including project case studies.

Although the timing and structure of this position are designed to align with the U.S. academic calendar, applications are NOT limited to currently enrolled students. PATH encourages applications from non-students who meet the required qualifications.

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and interpret World Bank and other multilateral development bank (MDB) project and procurement databases, documentation, and operational processes.

  • Strong skills in data analysis, including the ability to extract, clean, and synthesize large datasets from MDB sources to identify relevant opportunities and trends.

  • Proven experience identifying patterns and insights across complex data to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Proficiency in developing clear, user-friendly dashboards and visualizations to communicate key findings to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to translate institutional priorities (e.g., World Bank health strategy) and project trends into actionable insights aligned with PATH's capabilities and value proposition.

  • Experience supporting the development of positioning materials, presentations, and opportunity briefs that articulate strategic alignment between PATH's offerings and MDB funding priorities.

  • Strong written communication skills, with experience in strategic communications as an internal organizational function-including drafting newsletters, updates, and briefs to inform, align, and engage cross-functional teams around key priorities and insights.

  • Familiarity with internal knowledge management practices, including maintaining shared resources, databases, and content repositories.

  • Passionate about addressing health issues in low-resource settings with a demonstrated commitment to equity.

  • Ability to derive strategic insights for country and global stakeholders from data analysis and desk research.

  • Experience conducting analysis on economic and/or public health trade-offs to develop recommendations for broad audiences.

  • Proven effectiveness working in a team-based environment, but capable also of working independently and taking initiative.

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and thrive in fast-paced and high-pressure situations.

  • Comfortable with working openly and transparently, sharing work-in-progress, failures, successes, and lessons-learned.

  • Humble, self-driven, fast learner that functions well in a highly collaborative environment as part of a cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Required Experience:

  • Graduate Degree (completed or in-progress) in Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Business, Public Policy, Public Health, or equivalent plus 2+ years' relevant experience.
