The Target Pay Range for this position is $114,300.00-$139,700.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $88,700.00 - $165,200.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE
As a Senior Data Governance Analyst at BECU, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that the data we rely on every day is accurate, trusted, and accessible. Your work will empower teams across the organization to make informed decisions that improve member service, operational efficiency, and business strategy. You'll build strong partnerships with data stewards, custodians, and business stakeholders, helping them understand, manage, and improve the quality of BECU's enterprise data assets. From cataloging critical data to establishing business rules and driving data quality initiatives, your expertise will directly influence how BECU uses data to drive growth and member impact.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Champion BECU's Data Governance Standards: Execute and uphold BECU's enterprise data governance standards, guidelines, and processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory and information protection requirements.
- Build Strong Data Partnerships: Identify and engage key stakeholders, data stewards, and custodians to ensure a collaborative and comprehensive approach to managing enterprise data assets.
- Lead Governance for Data Assets: Scope and define business area data assets-considering systems of entry, systems of record, and downstream data consumers-to ensure appropriate governance coverage.
- Facilitate Cross-Functional Collaboration: Organize and lead virtual cross-functional teams to establish data governance objectives, prioritize initiatives, resolve issues, and make key decisions for enterprise data assets.
- Assess and Profile Data Quality: Construct initial technical profiles for simple to moderately complex data assets. Analyze data quality insights and collaborate with stakeholders to align on improvement needs.
- Develop Data Guidelines and Business Rules: Facilitate the creation of clear and actionable data guidelines, including business terminology, data classifications, and business rules that define data quality expectations.
- Ensure Operational Alignment: Partner with owners of data creation and maintenance processes to ensure operational procedures align with established data guidelines and standards.
- Catalog Enterprise Data Assets: Work closely with data stewards and custodians to ensure enterprise data assets are fully documented, including business terms, data dictionaries, classifications, and lineage.
- Drive Data Quality Issue Resolution: Proactively identify, prioritize, and lead efforts to resolve governance and data quality issues in partnership with data stewards and stakeholders.
- Train and Empower Data Stewards: Deliver training and guidance to data stewards on essential data governance controls, enabling a self-service approach to managing data quality.
- Manage Data Governance Tools Access: Coordinate the process for managing user access and permissions for Data Governance Office (DGO)-owned platforms.
- Design and Improve Governance Processes: Participate in shaping BECU's enterprise data governance objectives, standards, and guidelines. Independently design and implement processes that bring these standards to life.
- Support Enterprise Data Initiatives: Contribute to key data governance initiatives across the enterprise, bringing your expertise to project teams and governance workstreams.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field-or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance and/or data management with demonstrated application of data governance principles, along with at least 2 years using data visualization and reporting tools (such as SAS, Tableau, Power BI, SSRS, or Alteryx), and a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with SQL and/or Python for querying and profiling structured datasets.
- Solid conceptual understanding of technology platforms like SQL Server, Oracle, Azure DataLake, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Collibra, or Azure Purview.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with experience gathering business requirements, documenting workflows and change management procedures, and performing data analysis-including cleansing, manipulation, and anomaly detection-within regulated environments and across structured and semi-structured data.
- Strong understanding of data protection frameworks with the ability to recommend security requirements, lead project teams, communicate effectively with a customer-focused mindset, and independently navigate moderate ambiguity while influencing stakeholders without direct authority.

- Advanced working knowledge of marketing data sources including Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Google Analytics/Big Query, Fiserv and SiteCore preferred.
