Housekeeping Job Details:

  • Hours - This is an on-call position need. The employee can have the flexibility to work various shifts. Typical shifts range Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm. *To meet on-call expectations, 2 shifts must be completed/month
  • Pay Range - $17.00-$18.00/hour
  • Location - 733 Selby Ave St. Paul MN , Seven Hills Senior Living

Job Objective(s)
Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the community and ensuring that visitors, residents, families, and staff have a positive impression. Additional daily duties include cleaning of common areas, project cleaning and seasonal cleaning duties as assigned. Weekly scheduled cleaning in resident's rooms.

Job Responsibilities and Duties
* Provide consistent & quality work to the residents and staff
* Maintain a clean and orderly work area and cleaning cart
* Follow job routines and instructions according to the assigned housekeeping schedule
* Assure resident apartments are clean and sanitized as scheduled
* Maintain inventory for daily needs & notify supervisor of supply issues
* Assist in keeping all common areas neat, clean and safe
* Follow the daily schedule to ensure all tasks are accomplished in a timely manner

Cleaning duties includes but not limited to:
* Vacuuming hallways, elevators and furniture
* Washing inside glass doors and windows
* Sweeping and/or mopping floors
* Cleaning and stocking supplies in restroom
* Dusting
* Rubbish/trash removal
* Washing / polishing woodwork and baseboards
* Seasonal duties as assigned

Qualifications
* Minimum 1 year housekeeping/cleaning experience
* Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in the resident's and overal community's best interest
* Ability to motivate oneself and work independently
* Ability to be flexible and to work with other staff and residents
* Knowledge of cleaning chemicals
* Good work ethic
* Maintains confidentiality

Physical Requirements (based on essential responsibilities)
Must be able to frequently perform tasks such as, but not limited to, those listed below:
* Bend and squat to the floor to pick up debris, trash containers, and to use cleaning tools and products, etc.
* See objects within 35 feet to monitor work areas, i.e., determine areas that are in need of cleaning
* Able to interpret colors to read warnings, labels, wires, etc.

Must be able to continuously perform tasks such as, but not limited to, those listed below:
* Move, push, pull and/or lift objects weighing 10 to 25 pounds.
* Use hands and arms for simple grasping, pushing and pulling to sweep, mop, use containers of cleaning solution/chemicals, etc.
* Perform tasks requiring actions of muscles or groups of muscles to walk, stoop, bend, lift, and to carry objects
* Walk and/or stand for prolonged periods of time
* Speak clearly and make self understood in face-to-face interactions
* See objects closely to read directions, instructions, chemical warnings, etc.
* Hear normal sounds and voices with some background noise to receive verbal instructions, answer telephones, communicate with others, etc.

Environment
Works indoors in a climate-controlled environment majority of the time.
