We are currently seeking a Supply Chain Sourcing Specialist to join our team onsite in Kalamazoo, MI. In this role, you'll support our New Product Development (NPD) process from a supply chain perspective, ensuring that cost, quality, and delivery goals are met early and sustained through launch. You'll own key commodities and suppliers, with a strong focus on early engagement, strategic sourcing, and cross-functional alignment.

How You Contribute:



  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Product Management to identify and source suppliers that align with project requirements.


  • Act as the supply chain lead on NPD teams, providing input on manufacturability, cost drivers, lead times, and risk.
  • Recommend supply strategies for new and custom products-balancing innovation with operational readiness.
  • Plan and purchase materials needed for pilot builds and product launches, including long-term agreements when appropriate.
  • Interpret supplier cost breakdowns and influence design and sourcing decisions through data-driven analysis.
  • Participate in early supplier engagement and negotiations for NPD programs.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to timeline, budget, or quality related to supply chain execution in NPD.
  • Monitor supplier performance and collaborate on improvement efforts related to quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Manage NPD-related supply chain projects through all phases: concept, definition, planning, execution, and validation.


Criteria for Success



  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or equivalent skill level
  • Knowledge of the use of lean manufacturing and project management tools.
  • Must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be familiar with the use of common quality system processes such as sample submission, capability studies, etc.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes used for metal fabrication, concrete, wood, and plastics is preferred.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in common units of measure and have a working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.
  • Must have a history of achievement with an emphasis on customer service and problem-solving.
  • Experience with supplier selection and contract negotiation, especially related to new product launches.
  • Comfortable using ERP and project management tools to support sourcing timelines.
  • Strong communicator who can navigate ambiguity and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Mostly office but may be required to work in noisy or hot environment and around moving machinery. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
