JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Part Time Office Assistant

The Part Time Office Assistant plays a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and providing support for the day-to-day operations of the outdoor recreation area. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Stone Valley, this position manages daily office operations within the recreation area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to create positive experiences for patrons of Stone Valley
    • Answering phone calls and providing information about programs and services
    • Orient patrons to facilities and programs
    • Familiarity with offerings within Campus Recreation Department to be able to answer questions
    • Using available resources to problem-solve and find solutions
    • Respond to emails to the public account in a timely manner
    • Direct inquiries to the appropriate person
  • Complete tasks related to daily operations of Stone Valley Facilities
    • Manage rental access
    • Check in/out equipment using inventory and point of sale software
  • Manage financial transactions for boat permits, mooring permits, boat rentals, facility rentals, etc.
  • Support and contribute to a positive culture within all facilities and programs.
  • Assist with processing reservations for facilities and programs
    • Work with Coordinator to book group programs
    • Process cabin rental requests

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Prior experience welcomed but not required.
  • Possess valid Basic First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or higher. Can be obtained upon hire.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other Computer Software
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Attention to detail

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Work will take place primarily at Stone Valley Recreation Area
  • Work approximately 20-24 hours per week
  • Seasonal position lasting from March through October with the possibility for employment through the winter months pending workload
  • Holidays and some weekends may be required
