Salary: The expected salary for this position is $110,000 - $130,000 annually. The actual pay rate offered may vary on multiple factors including, but not limited to, experience, knowledge, skills and/or location.



POSITION SUMMARY

The Maintenance and Reliability Engineer at AES plays a critical role in supporting the Boeing Dreamlifter program by enhancing maintenance effectiveness, increasing equipment uptime, and reducing the total cost of ownership across AES's global operations. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving maintenance strategies and reliability-centered programs for a diverse fleet of specialized Ground Support Equipment (GSE). Reporting to the Global Contract Manager, the role works closely with Maintenance teams, Site Managers and Global Contract Management to drive performance, ensure contract alignment and support operational excellence within Boeing-specific operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

(Other duties may be assigned and are not limited to the following)

  • Lead the design and implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance programs across AES field locations to improve equipment availability and reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Oversee and conduct regular audits of maintenance operations to identify inefficiencies, non-compliance with procedures and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Global Contract Manager and Site Managers to ensure maintenance operations meet or exceed contractual requirements across Dreamlifter and AES customer sites.
  • Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for reliability (MTBF, MTTR), backlog, labor productivity and service quality across maintenance teams.
  • Serve as technical lead for troubleshooting chronic or complex GSE reliability issues, coordinating field investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance best practices to ensure consistency and efficiency in servicing GSE assets.
  • Establish and maintain reliability and maintainability models to support equipment lifecycle cost analysis and optimize spares inventories.
  • Support new site launches by developing the maintenance strategy, service structure and reliability tools required for startup success.
  • Assist in the selection and implementation of new diagnostic tools and technologies to enhance data-driven maintenance decision-making.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly operational reporting, including backlog, forecast and actuals.
  • Participate in and lead safety and quality audits, both internal and external, ensuring strict adherence to AES and regulatory standards.



QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred; equivalent work experience in maintenance engineering or operations will be considered.
  • 5+ years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance supervision, or GSE/heavy equipment operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS/ERP systems (Infor / EAM preferred) and strong data management skills.
  • Experience working across distributed field operations or multi-site industrial environments.

  • Computer and office programs knowledge (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the capacity to drive performance improvements in maintenance operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • High level of initiative with a hands-on, field-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • High attention to detail, consistency, and accuracy in performing job-related tasks.
  • Exceptional integrity and ethics to maintain confidential information.
  • Poised and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work both as a team and/or independently.
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • International and domestic travel requirements: ability and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to various global and domestic locations to ensure operational alignment and compliance including holding a valid passport or the ability to obtain one for international travel.
