We are actively looking for a Data Analytics Lead to join one of our Florida offices. This role is responsible for establishing, guiding, directing and overseeing our Data Management and Analytic services throughout our transportation practice. The Data Management Lead will partner with transportation leaders in outlining the strategic approach to data management and analytics, developing the plan for growth of the data management and analytics program, evaluating program performance, developing strategic planning and assessing new opportunities within each of the markets we operate in.

The right candidate must have a strong understanding of a broad range of practical technologies and markets M&N works in.

This role would be expected to provide subject matter expertise around data management principles and assist in building and maintaining a strong regional or market specific reputation while contributing to the overall goals.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Identify key strategic clients or initiatives to guide the direction of Data Analytics Program throughout the transportation and related industries. Responsible for identifying and maintaining a pipeline for business development
  • Coordinate with leadership on key pursuits to assemble the best qualified team to provide the highest level of success in project pursuit and execution on projects. May serve as Project Director or client lead on selected, strategic technology or data projects
  • Provide data management and analytics support for marketing and strategic positioning of select clients
  • Work with the Marketing Department to develop marketing materials, resumes and project portfolios in preparation for marketing M&N's data management and analytics program. Represent M&N at conferences, seminars, industry organizations and provides technical presentations
  • Work with leadership to identify areas where data management and analytics best practices can enhance service offerings
  • Develop short and long term strategies for data management implementation including providing guidance and recommendations on big data management and analysis
  • Focus on providing a data management and analytic services program to external clients and integrating a comprehensive data management platform for use of big data initiatives internally. This will include architecting and creating a data management workflow and furthering the strategic goal of creating innovative thought leadership
  • Collaborate with leadership to guide the strategy of weaving data and technology into all M&N transportation and related service lines. Develop a data management plan that outlines opportunities, initiatives, and major action items for delivery of the plan that is based on a needs assessment
  • Establish strategic partnerships with technology vendors
  • Understand the latest technology trends. Work with leadership throughout the company to build and maintain market knowledge to assist in making appropriate investment and prioritization decisions in data management and analytics
  • Serve as team leader of the data management group and provide support for technology staff and support the advancement of elevating data / technology with the team members
  • Identify, develop, recruit and mentor future talent with a focus on technology integration, including those with strong business development and client relationship expertise
  • Develop or oversee training programs to help build data management technology skillsets within the company
  • Identify, recruit, and acquire key and strategic personnel to build data analytics expertise and capabilities across the company

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, geography, or data analytics; required
  • GISP certification; required
  • 15+ years' experience in data analytics and big data related to smart cities, transportation, ITS, planning, and climate resiliency; required
  • 15+ years of experience with GIS related to transportation/roadway projects; required
  • 15+ years of experience working with USDOT, State DOTs, independent authorities, l as other state and local agencies; required
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.

Physical requirements:

Work is generally performed in an office or client office setting. Ability to use standard office equipment is required. Travel may be required from time to time.
