Kitware, Inc. seeks R&D Engineer - CV SD for our Clifton Park, NY HQ loc and may work remotely from any approved U.S. state location. Provide technical knowledge + implementation skills for research, development, consulting, software creation, technical marketing + customer support. Design + develop new algorithms or software in machine learning, visualization, graphics, image processing, + computational sciences by application of systems analysis techniques + procedures. Implement, document, analyze, create, test + modify computer systems or programs, incl prototypes based on/related to user/system design specs. Create + provide new tech + consulting support to customers + Kitware personnel. Participate in research community: attend conferences, publish, etc. Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of current research topics incl deep learning + traditional machine learning fields. Assist in prep of funding proposals to research agencies + commercial firms. Participate in development of new products/improvement of products by introducing new tech + SW implementations. Little domestic travel may be involved. May undergo background checks.
Must have Masters in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field. Also requires skill in: Machine Learning and Deep Learning Projects; C++, C, or Python; Cross platform software development using build tools with a variety of compilers and IDEs across platforms; developing software for Unix, Linux, MacOS or Windows operating systems to large open-source projects and communities. Required skills can be gained concurrent with education, and skills will be measured through passage of technical screen or interview.
