Anticipated Hiring Pay: $26.45 - $33.78 hourly
Full Pay Range: $26.45 - $41.10 hourly

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

The Human Resources Associate is an entry-level professional classification that performs responsible work in one or more major functional areas of Human Resources, such as recruitment and selection, position management, benefits, employee relations, performance management, and compensation plan administration. Work involves the application of professional knowledge and personal judgment to a variety of technical human resources problems. In this role, you will work under general supervision on routine and regular assignments and under closer supervision on special assignments or when first assigned to a department. Learns to exercise a fair amount of independence, initiative, and professional expertise in conducting day-to-day work, solving issues, and determining when it is appropriate to escalate matters.

We Require

  • One year of experience working in a human resources environment

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field

  • Human resources experience may substitute for theeducation requirement on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

Job Contributions

  • Interpret Human Resources policies and procedures and provide advice, direction, and information on a variety of human resources-related matters to employees and managers

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies, including identifying sources of candidates and partnering with management on interview and selection processes, creating and updating job descriptions, and advising supervisors on recruitment best practices

  • May manage leave case management (FMLA, Donations of Leave, Short- and Long-Term Disability) in accordance with specific laws and provisions of leave; advise management and employees about rights, obligations, policy, and procedures; work with management to suggest methods of reasonable accommodation and maintain detailed documentation of processes undertaken to accommodate individual circumstances

  • Prepare complex and sensitive in nature human resources correspondence, documents, and forms supporting personnel actions, position management, compensation, and payroll; Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies

  • Conduct research, compile statistical information, and prepare reports for management

  • Design and deliver training modules

  • Assist in investigations, gathering data, and report preparation on proposed disciplinary actions and employee grievances

  • Provide general guidance and counsel to department management and employees regarding employee relations issues

Working Conditions

  • Office environment, sitting for extended periods of time, occasionally required to go out in the field, which may require walking, driving, or climbing stairs for 15-30 minute durations

  • May be exposed to loud noises, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation, and other related conditions and situations

  • Ability to exert up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently
