Where you will work

The Augusta mill sits along the Savannah River, on the state border between Georgia and South Carolina and manufactures light, medium, and heavy weight coated paperboard. It is a well-invested SBS paperboard manufacturing facility with approximately 600 thousand tons of capacity. This facility boasts over 700 employees and has been in operation for almost 65 years. Located on 3,000 acres, the Augusta site operates two paper machines that produce 1,940 tons per day. The Augusta Mill is Clearwater Paper's largest paperboard facility and critical to the success of our strategy and future.

Augusta, Georgia is a vibrant community along the Georgia/South Carolina border about 150 miles east of Atlanta and 70 miles west of Columbia. Augusta offers a variety of experiences - something for everyone! The area offers historical attractions, recreational activities, music, family festivals, and other unforgettable experiences for fun with a hometown feel. Downtown Augusta is home to many of Augusta's most popular attractions, locally owned restaurants, and nightlife. From March through November, the Augusta Market brings local and regional tastemakers and artisans of all kinds to the 8th Street entrance to the Riverwalk. The Masters Tournament has placed Augusta on a world stage, confirming its well-earned reputation for tradition, hospitality, and heritage. Students from around the country call Augusta home thanks to Augusta University, Georgia Military College, Paine College, University of South Carolina Aiken and many technical and educational institutes around Augusta's River Region. Augusta's warm year-round climate provides several opportunities for outdoor activities and leisure.

What you will do:

Change Management



  • Collaborate with senior leaders and project teams to develop change management strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and project teams to conduct impact assessments to identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities associated with proposed changes.
  • Develop comprehensive change management communication plans, including stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Provide information to stakeholders throughout the change process, addressing concerns and resistance effectively.
  • Develop clear and compelling change messages that convey the purpose, benefits, and impacts of the change initiatives.
  • Create and execute communication plans, utilizing various channels to ensure consistent and timely dissemination of information.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust as needed. Track and evaluate the progress and outcomes of change initiatives, collecting feedback and insights to drive continuous improvement.


Program Management



  • Leverage understanding of business priorities, leader expectations, and employee feedback to craft messaging recommendations; influence communications that foster employee engagement through understanding of company Mission, Vision, Customer Promise, and Core Values
  • Develop, lead, and manage detailed communication program/project(s), including resource allocation needs, budget information project process reviews, project timeline, identifying risks and developing countermeasures.
  • Develop content that conveys the company, department branding, and employee value proposition, while bringing key company messages to life across multiple communication channels (company website, print collateral, social media, video media, etc.).
  • Lead coordination of internal resources, third parties'/vendors/ operations and commercial leaders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Execute project review process, establish project milestones and lead project review meetings.


    Community Relations Charitable Contributions and Sponsorships



    • Develop community outreach plan with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion focus, in partnership with HR Managers

    What you will need:



    • BS or BA Required
    • 5 years of experience supporting change management and/or communication efforts
    • Demonstrated success driving change through strong communication practices. Manufacturing experience is preferred.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
    • Proven leadership of complex projects
    • Strong organizational, communication skills
    • Strong Excel and Presentation skills

    • Travel will be less than 10%



    • Some afterhours work may be required.



    • Position requires walking and climbing stairs throughout the manufacturing site.




    Total Reward Details

    We're committed to providing an exceptional workplace experience, including a comprehensive total reward package. This position is eligible for our Incentive Plan. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors. Benefits are generally available after 30 days and include medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and a 401k plan. Paid time off will include vacation days, personal days, and company holidays.
