Summary

SAS Sr Analyst Floor Planner

The SAS Sr Analyst Floor Planner plays an important role in the Company through the creation of floor plans, reflows of product location, store/planogram assignments, and fixture reports. This position is responsible for learning, operating, and maintaining various software programs.

The Floor Planner is responsible to ensure delivery of floor plan and fixture development at store level in support of strategic, category and format initiatives. Manage all macro-space tools to ensure delivery and improvement of rule sets and guidelines, to develop and maintain the best floor plans for our stores that meet the needs of our consumers. Understands the strategies for each banner and influences the development of prototype fixture plans to ensure strategies are delivered upon and business objectives are met.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Responsible to ensure company objectives for sales and profit, product presentation, assortment, adjacencies are achieved.
* Independently creates floor space strategies based on trends, performance data, external data, and other relevant resources.
* Proactively manage changes in scope, identify potential risks to data accuracy or project completion, and devise contingency plans
* Creates ad hoc analysis through micro-strategy to drive strategic recommendations for floor layout and customer facing improvements
* Continually seeks out new and innovative plans to enhance our ability to delivery on the customer experience
* Integrate robust data analysis and variables to develop and maintain planograms reflecting the category's strategic vision, most optimal assortments, merchandising guidelines and size requirements.
* Analyze sales and gross margin data on published planograms to ensure proper use of space requirements and suggest adjustments for future planograms.
* Provide strategic insights and guidance to retail merchandising partners utilizing customer and competitive data to evaluate category performance to accomplish desired business goals.
* Provide leadership towards a small team, tasked with delegating workload and maintaining consistent project completion
* Liaison for multiple corporate departments. Partners with Corporate GM and Division Merchandising Management for feedback and recommendations. Validates feedback and revise stocking plans as needed. Distributes final stocking plans to Division Reset Managers for execution. Provides Division Management with final resolution of all recommended changes to stocking plans. Partners cross functionally with Company and Retailer Leadership to identify potential cost savings, and elimination of unnecessary fixtures.
* Maximizes the use of store space for merchandising sales and profits
* Continuously analyzes performance metrics and identifies opportunities/makes recommendations to optimize space productivity
* Maintains multiple store layout folders and store maps, creates the system and structure to update and change store assortment and space allocation information as the changes are executed in the future. Adapt/interpret Consumer Demand direction to meet business goals based on individual store layouts and challenges.
* Coordinate and utilize reporting tools and store feedback to identify data gaps and errors in the eMapping, gauging the level of data risk, and updating the system/information with an appropriate sense of urgency.
* Leverages technology and resources in the creation of floor and merchandising plans when they provide a competitive advantage or financial benefit.
* Provides training for all macro space associates as well as strategic support for all associates on adapted corporate merchandising principles, practices and systems.
* Delivers and maintains store-specific merchandising plans that accurately meet the needs of our target consumer for that market in support of Non-Perishable and Fresh businesses.
* Performs other duties as required and assigned.

- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports
- Delegates works and provides guidance, direct and mentoring to a small project team

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:
5+ Years of experience in Category Merchandising
Grocery Retail or Merchandising experience a plus
Experience with CAD based software systems.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Understanding of planogram processes and systems, including an understanding of CAD systems
Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
Ability to gather and interpret data efficiently and accurately
Ability to cross functionally collaborate and problem solve
Strong project management skills a plus

Environmental & Physical Requirements
Office / Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
