Job Description

The Manager of Outreach, Development, and Technical Operations is a dynamic leadership role committed to advancing the mission of Leach Theatre through strategic community engagement, partnership cultivation, and oversight of technical operations. This multifaceted position supports both artistic and administrative functions, serving as a vital connector between campus, community, and the venue while ensuring operational excellence. The role is based in Rolla, MO, with the possibility for remote work on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Direction & Operations: Manage technical operations including equipment, staffing, and production logistics. Lead technical planning and provide logistical support for performances and events. Develop and maintain training programs, technical manuals, and equipment schedules. Utilize EMS software for pricing, invoicing, rentals, and reporting.

Campus Performing Arts Series & Routing: Support the CPAS board with technical insights and programming logistics. Identify and engage new artists and regional performers for the series. Collaborate with peer institutions on co-booking and tour routing. Attend booking conferences and ensure bookings align with theatre capabilities.

Grants & Fundraising: Oversee the internal grant calendar and lead all application efforts. Collaborate with campus departments to streamline submission and reporting processes.

Sponsorships, Donations & Hospitality: Partner with the Manager of Operations to implement donor benefit programs and build strong community partnerships. Develop hospitality agreements with local partners and manage hospitality needs for visiting artists and staff. Monitor and track annual contribution goals.

Marketing & Promotion: Develop and execute marketing campaigns alongside internal teams and external vendors. Analyze audience data to inform targeted outreach and advertising strategies. Support the Campus Performing Arts Series (CPAS) board with marketing initiatives and event tie-ins.

Community & Campus Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with schools, senior centers, veterans groups, and special needs programs. Conduct outreach surveys to guide programming efforts. Collaborate with the Manager of Operations to plan and execute community engagement events and foster a culture of service within the department.

Artistic & Campus Partnerships: Cultivate collaborative relationships with local arts organizations to cross-promote events and share resources. Enhance campus engagement through student discounts, targeted marketing, and partnerships with university groups. Increase visibility across campus channels and student organizations.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Passion for the performing arts, community engagement, and organizational leadership
  • Experience in arts administration, fundraising, technical theatre, or related fields
  • Familiarity with theatre technology, grant writing, and marketing platforms
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,915-$55,000 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
