Overview
The Director, Key Accounts leads a multi-state team of Key Account Managers across roughly half the country. He/She is responsible for executing SK's segment positioning and value proposition for the assigned geographies and communicating business and personnel progress to the Sr. Director, Government Accounts. This position requires superior communication, coaching, strategy development, and implementation for effective pull through of marketed SK Life Science products.
Responsibilities
Lead a multi-state team of Key Account Managers (KAMs) focused on long-term care facilities and pharmacies, Veteran's Affairs facilities, Military Treatment Facilities and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs).
- Recruit, train, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Key Account Managers
- Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide ongoing coaching and feedback. Support KAM career development through field engagements, coaching, individual development plans, and ongoing education
- Manage performance consistently across the geographies. Responsible for delivering performance reviews, assessing performance against MBOs, making recommendations for performance ratings, and job tiering adjustments as necessary
- Routinely communicate team performance and achievement to the Sr. Director, Government Accounts
- Report on key objective progress and provide action recommendations to the Sr. Director, Government Accounts
- Collaborate with the Sr Director, Government Accounts to align and develop and execute the long-term care, military health and Medicaid strategy
- Build strong, collaborative relationships cross-functionally to ensure alignment on strategy and messaging within the scope of projects
- Identify market trends and competitive activities and anticipate attractive market opportunities and communicate them to Sr. Director, Government Accounts
- Lead and support both Market Access and home office projects and initiatives as needed
- Effectively manage all administrative processes and responsibilities for the assigned geographies
- Understand and comply with SKLSI legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements as well as federal and state laws as they relate to customer interactions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required
- 12+ years of relevant Sales, Sales Leadership, Marketing or other Commercial experience in the Pharmaceutical or related Healthcare markets required
- 3+ years as a Key Account Manager
- 5+ years of proven Sales Leadership preferred
- Work is typically performed in an office or field environment; candidate must reside in one of the regions covered in the role
- Business travel, minimum 40%, by air or car is required for regular internal and external meetings
- May be required to routinely lift items ~25 pounds
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
- Valid driver's license, suitable driving record and safe, operable motor vehicle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
