Distribution Supervisor

The Distribution Supervisor will be responsible for planning, implementing, and controlling efficient, effective flow and storage of finished goods. Ensures the Distribution team meets KPI's through coaching, performance management and team development. Maintains service level by organizing and evaluating systems and procedures used by the department.

The Distribution Supervisor will:



  • Assist department manager with selection, training, orientation, leadership, evaluation, and counseling of employees.
  • Oversee day-to-day activities of the distribution department and provides assistance as needed.
  • Assist manager with inventory reconciliation, inventory transfers, audits, and tissue discards.
  • Conduct departmental communication meetings and assists manager with employee assignments and time keeping.
  • Ensure distribution staff, materials handling systems, processes and activities are in alignment with OSHA safety guidelines and practices.
  • Develop, implement and maintain all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed for the uniformity and quality of operations and in keeping with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
  • Drive continuous improvement activities related to the Distribution department.
  • Assist in development and achievement of departmental goals consistent with Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services (CBC/CTS's) mission and strategic plan.
  • Meet operational strategies defined by management by analyzing trends, preparing critical measurements, implementing productivity improvements and resolving problems.
  • Assist in budget development and ongoing monitoring expenses.
  • Work effectively to maintain interdepartmental communication, cooperation, and respect.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Minimum Requirements:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE



  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills, as well as strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Minimum 1 year of previous supervisory experience.



WORK ENVIRONMENT and PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES



  • Responsible for on-call and after-hours Distribution emergencies.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
  • Must be a proficient PC user.
  • Must understand the concepts of business process documentation and improvement.
  • Possess solid decision-making and problem-solving skills.
