Position Summary

The College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Director. This position will be part of the Clinician Educator track and will work closely with the Assistant Dean of Professional Graduate Programs and the DNP Program Coordinator. The assigned workload will be per policy. In addition to the contract salary, this position has an administrative performance supplement for a directorship, which is $5,000 annually and is prorated based upon effective dates of service.

The DNP Program Director is responsible for the delivery, evaluation and student experiences in the DNP core curriculum (DNP core, EIP core and systems learning courses) in collaboration with the DNP Program Coordinator and faculty teaching in the DNP program. The DNP Program Director is responsible for overall coordination of courses, faculty, and students, facilitating effective communication to support the development and delivery of the DNP general curriculum. Leading effective communication among all individuals involved in DNP program development and delivery is critical to effective performance of this role. The DNP Program Director also works within the established faculty governance structure, as appropriate, regarding curriculum and policy development affecting the program and the associated concentrations to ensure alignment with AACN Essentials, national and CCNE standards. The individual in this position is also responsible for maintaining effective communication with the Assistant Dean of Professional Graduate Programs and other Program Directors, and for ensuring adherence to CON and University policies.

Additionally, the DNP Program Director works directly with Student Services personnel to ensure the integrity of the admissions process and adherence to CON admissions policy, specifically for post-Masters DNP applicants. In collaboration with the DNP faculty, the DNP Program Director and the DNP Program Coordinator ensure that the DNP general curriculum conforms to appropriate regulations and accreditation standards. The Director develops and maintains relationships with community partners and ensures that students are prepared to develop, implement and evaluate their DNP scholarly projects. The DNP Program Director and the DNP Program Coordinator are also involved in recruitment and retention of students in the program, conducting gap analyses for post-master's students, and active orientating new faculty. The Program Director works with the DNP Program Coordinator, faculty and the Program Evaluation Committee to develop and implement a comprehensive evaluation plan and collaborates with the faculty to interpret the data for continuous program improvement.
