Department Summary

The UNT System Human Resources Department is one department made of a team of teams that supports various constituencies and component institutions within our UNT System Enterprise while working together to achieve the vision of becoming an enterprise that is values-driven and customer-focused with an emphasis on excellence, curiosity, and innovation. There are exciting things on the horizon, and we are looking for experienced and innovative HR professionals to join our journey.

Position Overview

This position manages the posting process and entire pre-employment process for all hires on the campuses. The Recruiting Coordinator is a front-facing role administering talent acquisition hiring processes and onboarding of new employees, including managing job postings, managing the offer process, ensuring compliance requirements, and serving as a primary point of contact to both hiring department and new hire.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in business or human resources management or related field and one year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Proficiency in MS Office
- Knowledge and skill in (or ability to quickly learn) utilization of relevant applicant tracking software and other technical resources.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, organize and effectively manage multiple assignments.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequently changing priorities.
- Ability to focus on providing a high level of customer service and follow through.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
- PHR or SHRM certification
- Human Resources or Recruiting experience

Job Duties:



  • % - In coordination with the hiring manager, the RC discusses salary for the new hire, determines if the offer is within budget and/or needs Compensation review. - (Essential)
  • % - Retains and completes offer letter proposals and ensures appropriate approvals are obtained. Drafts and finalizes offer letters, ensuring all employment terms are accurately reflected, make verbal offers to all final candidates, and is the liaison between the hiring manager and the new hire. - (Essential)
  • % - Reviews finalists work and education history, verifying that candidates meet the required qualifications and that references were checked, and ensure search documents have been uploaded for retention. - (Essential)
  • % - Manages pre-employment screenings, including adjudicating criminal background checks, references, and drug tests (if applicable) to ensure compliance. - (Essential)
  • % - Leads the coordination of the pre-boarding process to ensure a smooth transition for new hires and answers questions regarding the pre-boarding process. Fields questions from finalist candidates on health benefits, vacation, and sick time. - (Essential)
  • % - Provides technical and administrative support, including serving as the organization's expert on E-Verify, to Campus HR team, Hiring Managers, Recruiters, and other stakeholders, ensuring compliance and process consistency. - (Essential)
  • % - Assists with applicant tracking system training as needed and is the first level of support for campus employees regarding applicant tracking system questions and/or issues. - (Essential)
  • % - Responsible for the collection of all search documents from interview teams, including reference checks documents to be filed and maintained per State Record Retention Schedule. - (Essential)
  • % - Conducts thorough reviews of job postings, ensuring they are accurately written, effectively communicate key responsibilities and qualifications, and align with organizational goals to attract top-tier talent. - (Essential)
  • % - Serves as the first point of contact for campus constituents and applicants regarding Talent Acquisition procedures and practices. - (Essential)
  • % - Ensures timely review and approval of job postings and offer letters, prioritizing tasks to meet critical hiring deadlines. Coordinates with hiring managers and recruiters to expedite processes, ensuring that time-sensitive actions such as job postings and offer issuance are completed promptly to attract/retain top candidates and prevent delays in the hiring process. - (Essential)
  • % - Keeps up to date with the organizational structure, policies, and procedures of all UNT System institutions, ensuring recruitment practices align with institutional guidelines and provide strategic advice in recruitment matters. Maintains current knowledge of organizational structure of all UNT System institutions and policies and procedures relevant to assigned area of responsibility. - (Essential)
