Job Description

As a Buyer Specialist within our Fashion Business Group, you will be instrumental in building, nurturing, and maintaining strong relationships with buyers to drive exceptional attendance at our events. This dynamic role focuses on proactive outreach, strategic relationship-building, and comprehensive market research to attract and recruit top-tier buyers. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Attendee Acquisition & Customer Success, as well as cross-functional teams including Events, Sales, and Marketing, to enhance buyer experiences, maximize attendance, and contribute to the overall success of our events.

  • Conduct comprehensive research to identify new buyer targets, analyze market categories, and study industry leaders to expand our network.
  • Proactively engage with buyers to secure their attendance at our events through effective communication and persuasion.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key buyers across diverse market segments and tiers, fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain consistent communication with existing and prospective buyers through phone, email, and in-person meetings to ensure ongoing engagement.
  • Respond promptly to buyer inquiries and resolve questions related to event details, registration, and logistics to enhance their experience.
  • Partner with the Events, Marketing, and PR teams to create compelling buyer-specific messaging and promotional materials.
  • Contribute to copywriting and the development of engaging collateral that entices buyers to attend events.
  • Provide accurate and timely event details, such as exhibitor listings, hotel rates, and schedules, to prospective and returning buyers.
  • Assess and qualify prospective buyers, guiding them seamlessly through the event registration process.
  • Utilize Salesforce to track, update, and analyze buyer data, delivering actionable insights to the sales and marketing teams.
  • Regularly update and maintain buyer contact information in the database, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  • Generate detailed reports and analyses on buyer engagement, event attendance, and campaign effectiveness to inform decision-making.
  • Assist in managing VIP and buyer programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance program outcomes.
  • Help coordinate event logistics, including show setup and buyer program implementation, to ensure smooth execution.
  • Actively match buyers with exhibitors to foster meaningful and enduring business relationships.
  • Deliver one-on-one concierge services to VIP buyers during events, ensuring a premium and tailored experience.
  • Research and source weekly leads to identify new buyers and opportunities for event attendance.
  • Collaborate with the team to design and implement targeted buyer campaigns aimed at driving attendance and engagement.
  • Support ongoing outreach and relationship management initiatives to strengthen buyer engagement and loyalty.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Fashion Design and Production, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 2-4 years showroom experience, or a related role in the fashion industry.
  • Strong understanding of the fashion industry
  • Proven track record of relationship-building and sales skills, ideally within the fashion or retail sector.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, creative, and innovative thinker with a proactive approach.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a team environment and can work independently when needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Existing relationships with key retailers are a must.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

The salary range for this role is $62,000- $70,000 based on experience.
