Duties and Responsibilities |
Position Summary:
The School of Law Admissions and Scholarship Office is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing enrollment pathways, recruitment, admissions, and scholarship strategies for the law school's J.D. and non-J.D. programs. The office closely partners with the Office of the Dean to ensure alignment with School of Law and University priorities and American Bar Association (
ABA) standards. The work of the office is led by the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Pathway Initiatives and is executed by two specialized enrollment teams - the JD Enrollment Team and Non-J.D. Enrollment Team. The teams work in close collaboration with Academic Program Directors and faculty admissions committees.
The Director of Non-J.D. Enrollment is a critical partner in the creation of an enrollment strategy for the law school's post- and non-J.D. programs that leverages market research to assess current academic offerings and identifies new pathways and academic opportunities that strengthen and expand the law school's graduate and online program national footprint. The Director works closely with Academic Program Directors and other faculty and staff to ensure the enrollment strategy promotes retention and student success. This requires the Director to continually assess enrollment strategy and outcomes in order to identify trends or other issues impacting program growth, student success and retention, and opportunities for improvement. As part of the Office of Admissions and Scholarship, the Director ensures enrollment strategy and practices align with Law School and University policy, procedures, and best practices.
All staff in the Law School report to the Associate Dean for Administration. Additionally, this position is accountable to the Law School's Faculty Director for Non-J.D. Programs, Academic Program Directors, and Assistant Dean for Admissions and Pathway Initiatives.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Actively contribute to the creation, implementation, and assessment of post-J.D. and non-J.D. program enrollment strategies and initiatives.
- Spearhead initiatives to improve the visibility of our graduate and online programs through marketing and outreach activities, including social media platforms.
- Create, implement, and assess a robust communication plan for all stages of enrollment (from prospect to admission to matriculation) to enroll a qualified incoming class. This includes collaborating with program directors; developing and coordinating the marketing communication sequence from outreach and recruitment to orientation; monitoring performance; and proactively working with program staff to strengthen and address issues with applicant funnel.
- Expand pathways and promote program visibility by leading recruitment strategies and representing the law school at internal and external (local, regional, and national) recruitment events with the goals of attracting an accomplished and diverse applicant pool and retaining a successful student body.
- Serve as a primary liaison to the University Office of Graduate & Professional Enrollment Management (GPEM) for recruitment and admission issues.
- Oversee and guide prospective applicants through application pipeline. Review application files and communicate with prospective students to encourage application completion. Counsel prospective students about the admission process, financial aid, and programs generally.
- Coordinate with the Faculty Director for Post-and Non-J.D. Programs, Academic Program Directors, faculty, staff, students and alumni across all stages of the enrollment process, including coordinating their participation in various recruitment and yield events.
- Provide routine reporting and updates on enrollment data to support institutional strategy and operational decision making. Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with best practices in graduate enrollment and legal education, university and School of Law policies and procedures, and relevant standards.
- Create and implement strategies to achieve specifically delineated goals.
- Work collaboratively across the law school and university and is accountable.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience |
Master's degree in related field and at least five years of progressive program development experience required. Advanced degree and/or additional experience may be required for some positions. |
Qualifications |
Minimum qualifications:
Master's degree in relevant field and at least five years of relevant experience working with graduate admissions and/or student services.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in marketing, recruitment, and graduate enrollment is highly desirable.
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Ability to relate to people with diverse backgrounds and build effective cross-organizational and external relationships.
Event planning experience desirable.
