Position Summary |
Project coordinator will do literature and data review, organize and run group activities with stakeholders, supervise and guide field crew, handle data QA/QC, write internal and/or peer-reviewed reports. Must have experience with freshwater mussels, logistical and field experience, and ability to coordinate among different Federal science entities. Preferred to have spatial analytical skills (e.g.
GIS experience). PhD-level position.
This position is a 1-year position, with the possibility of renewal depending on the scope and available funds on the project |

Physical Demands |
- Research Professional (Project Coordinator) will need to be able to access and survey freshwater benthic communities: this includes carrying supplies and equipment sometimes 1km or farther from vehicle, exposure to weather and other natural hazards.

- Developing an appropriate survey protocol for the first field season, integration of available data and landscape layers, and will report to Dr. Wares as well as (USFS) Dr. Rachel Toczydlowski.

- Manage a crew of 3-4 seasonal field technicians and guide survey work in Great Lakes River basins in the region.
- Supervise field crew, establish survey and safety protocols, and ensure data appropriate to set up 2nd field season.
