JOB SUMMARY
The Cardiac Device Tech performs a variety of functions related to implanted cardiac device management, such as ICD, Pacemaker and ILR evaluations. Performs device parameters testing and remote monitoring, including the interpretation of data and recognition of potential life threatening cardiac arrhythmias that require notifying the electrophysiology provider. This position is also accountable for ensuring that patients and their families are well-educated and are provided the necessary instructions for monitoring and follow up care.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required



  • Education
    Bachelor's Degree in health, science, nursing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Experience
    2 years of experience with interrogation, troubleshooting, and reprogramming of implantable cardiac devices


  • Licenses and Certifications
    BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - Accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire


JOB DUTIES



  • Perform evaluation and reprogramming of implantable pacemakers, defibrillators and loop recorders.
  • Perform ambulatory monitoring and other related non-invasive cardiac diagnostic procedures.
  • Analyze results from device interrogations and report findings to clinic physicians and/or nursing personnel.
  • Perform device management and documentation using designated cardiology information systems.
  • Demonstrate exceptional clinical and problem solving skills. Utilize specialized knowledge of medical terminology and cardiac
    anatomy and physiology.
  • Perform or assist with other related cardiac procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
