The Sterilization Technician decontaminates, cleans, inspects, processes, assembles, replaces, sterilizes, stores, inventory/tracks and distributes medical instruments.Ensures instruments are available and ready when needed.Transports instruments and supplies between processing areas. Creates and maintains/updates manufacturer's Instructions for Use (IFU's) manuals. Cleans and maintains instrument processing areas and additional duties as assigned including but not limited to cleaning rooms, stocking, ordering supplies, trains/refreshes new and/or updated reprocessing policies/procedures for other staff members, and other duties as assigned by supervisor.Determines Operating Room surgical instrument needs for surgery cases and helps set up surgical instrument trays.Picks supplies for procedures in the surgery center, as well as the procedure center.
