Together We Grow - One Mission, One Team - With a Commitment to Serve Scope of Work: The Environmental Management Coordinator reports directly to the Environmental Department Compliance Manager to provide administrative and office management support to the entire Environmental Compliance Team located at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Responsibilities:
- Responsibilities to include administrative duties and coordination for the continued implementation of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
- The Coordinator supports the implementation and administration of Environmental Management projects at the contract level to ensure proper follow-through for employees. The coordinator also facilitates reporting to the Government and offers support to the executive staff in editing and producing documents for quarterly environmental compliance meetings.
- Producing meeting minutes for review and final filing.
- Creation of Power Point presentation slides for Civil Engineering Command, Wing Commander covering environmental updates and progress on compliance related topics.
- Reading, understanding and implementing Air Force Instructions (AFI) related to EMS to ensure Air Force Academy conformance.
- Prepares quarterly documentation audits for Environmental Data and System Hub (eDASH) database.
- Serve as an alternate system administrator for official Air Force Records and Documentation filing.
- The Coordinator will be required to complete Air Force training required for records management and EMS.
- Assists with other programs as needed and cross trains with other program areas.
- Enter data into USAFA databases such as eDASH, EASIER, ESSOH-MIS, MICT etc.
- Provides timely and high-quality deliverables to Government environmental personnel.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- The Environmental Specialist Coordinator shall have at least 3-years' experience in environmental compliance programs in a specific medium/area such as hazardous materials, hazardous waste, solid waste, fuel storage tanks, drinking water, and/or wastewater discharge.
- Experience in either DoD, Government Service or Contract Support is desirable.
- Applicable certifications and knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations in their respective medium is highly desirable.
- Advanced computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point and Outlook) and general administrative skills; exemplary writing and editing skills, required with a preference given to technical writing.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and to provide independent judgment in his/her daily decision making.
- Uses confidentiality, discretion and maturity in daily work.
- Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
- Must have and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license in accordance with state law.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
- For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, and have the ability to safely operate a company vehicle.
Physical Demands / Work Environment:
- Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.
