Position Description

The Senior Global Product Manager for Genomics responsible for the product management of QIAGEN's QIAseq Catalog of Universal Genomics Consumables portfolio. This role will be focused on the management of various targeted assays in the portfolio. This portfolio serves customer segments that practice NGS-based applications for detecting various sequence variation in biological samples. participate in activities, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, to achieve the following:

Portfolio Strategy:

- Develop and maintain a strategic understanding of target customer segments, drivers of demand, buying cycles, competitive forces and needs;

- Develop requirements of Target Market to guide organic and inorganic strategies for portfolio expansion and optimization to establish a basis for competition.

- Expand the portfolio by participating in the Company's strategic planning process to develop and prioritize development projects by the Product Development and R&F Functional Groups.

- Ensure effective product life cycle management from new product introduction, growth, maturation and retirement.

Market Segment Targeting:

- Define the specific target customer segments for penetration and the required participation model to effectively penetrate and compete

- Develop the necessary technical and product content for syndication into marketing programs and sales force enablement assets to generate demand, acquire customers and achieve the growth and revenue targets.

- Deliver the necessary product training to CommOps stakeholders.

- Directly participate in customer-facing activities, such as: KOL management, Customer Collaborations, External Presentations and Customer Support.

- Monitor and develop forecasts to ensure product availability through global regions

- Serve as the escalation stakeholder on a global basis for technical support, product availability and delivery.

- Monitor product performance and conformity and liaise with relevant stakeholders for any corrective actions.

Revenue Achievement and Reporting:

- Develop and implement marketing and sales force enablement efforts to achieve sales goals and increase market penetration;

- Provide monthly reviews of business performance and provide guidance on forecast and budget metrics


Position Requirements

- At least 5 years' experience in various leadership and cross functional roles related to the application of NGS to molecular biology, cell biology and/or applied markets with an emphasis on market analytics, business case development, product management, marketing, strategic portfolio management and integration of acquired entities.

- A life sciences or clinical degree, with an advanced degree or equivalent, preferred.

- Technical Knowledge: A strong domain understanding of basic life science, translational and applied testing application workflows involving molecular assays and NGS

- Product Management: A strong understanding of the fundamental principles of product management, with an emphasis on assessment of market opportunities, requirements development, product ideation and concept development

- Product Development: A strong understanding of stage-gated development practices and ability to collaborate with technical stakeholders across multiple scientific domains to achieve the necessary development and launch milestones


Personal Requirements

- Communication: A strong command of English written, analytical and presentation skills for scientific and medical communications;

- Collaboration: An ability to integrate as a contributing member into highly, skilled, diverse and geographically disparate cross-functional teams of clinical geneticists, scientific researchers, bioinformaticians, usability specialists, and software engineers;

- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

- Travel: The position requires up to 20% domestic and/or international travel.
