How you will make history here...

The Health Technician & Safety Coordinator is a 1-3-year developmental role that will provide health, wellness and safety services to the employee population in accordance with all applicable company policies, government regulations, practice standards and best practice guidelines. In all areas of practice, the H&S Technician will act as an advocate for both employee and company to encourage the attainment of optimal health and well-being of employees at the Downingtown site.

What you will do...
* Assist in regulatory compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies/ departments to achieve company safety objectives.
* Supports onsite safety initiatives such as participating in inspections/audits and promotes safety activities.
* Assists in the investigation of injuries and forklift accidents.
* Coordinates safety training and awareness activities to ensure effective training, proper documentation and recordkeeping.
* Treat employees (first aid) who sustain minor on-site injuries and refer to outside medical facilities as needed.
* Participate in ergonomics assessments and job hazard analysis.
* Assist with the First Responder (FR) program and maintain supplies and equipment. Assists with management of CPR/AED and First Responder training for employees who are designated as First Responders for the site.
* Organize periodic emergency evacuation drills.
* Assist with industrial hygiene programs by scheduling testing, providing field support, and filing documentation.
* Support LO/TO, energy control, and machine guarding efforts.
* Manage safety glasses, safety shoe, and other PPE programs.
* Support the Behavior Based Safety Program by training, promoting, and tracking data.
* Assist with new hire safety orientation training.
* Manage computer-based training and in-person training by entering programs and attendance into the training management system.
* Conduct monthly random drug test
* Coordinate the hearing protection program. Schedule testing, follow-up appointment. and manage documentation.
* Coordinate respiratory protection program including education and medical surveillance.
* Conduct assessments / audits of potential health hazards at the site.
* Lead the plant Safety Committee Team and support other plant safety teams.
* Assist with all in-house training which includes scheduling meeting rooms, gathering participant's names, preparing sign-in sheets, presentation materials and handouts, and related functions.
* Distribute safety information and maintain postings.
* Supports corporate safety initiatives as directed.
* Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs.
* Perform other duties as assigned by safety manager.

What you will bring to the table... (Must Have)

* High school diploma or GED.

It would be great if you have... (Nice to Have)

  • Health and Safety experience
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • Current CPR/AED certification with American Red Cross or American Heart Association is a plus. Will train as necessary.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$47,700-$68,500

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
