Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding aLead Clinical Lab Technologist 5 to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11-floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital which provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state-of-the-art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services-from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults-all designed to keep our community healthy.

Opportunity Details:

  • Tour 2 (daytime) and rotate weekend shifts.
  • Report findings, perform tests requiring special scientific skills, and, in the absence of the technical manager/director/administrator, be responsible for the proper performance of all laboratory procedures.
  • Perform bench work on basis of laboratory needs for optimal patient care and does supervisory functions, as needed.
  • Perform day-to-day supervision of test performance by testing personnel, monitor laboratory processes to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained, to include review of quality assurance practices, environmental monitors, instrument and equipment maintenance/function checks, quality control, calibration, and amended reports, if any.
  • Review all Quality Control (QC), maintenance logs and patients' results and ensures internal and external customer inquiries are responded to courteously, accurately, and in a timely manner and ensure complaints are properly resolved.
  • Perform maintenance and calibration (daily/weekly/monthly) on instrumentation or applicable platforms, monitors supplies, inventory, and equipment for adequacy and functionality
  • Troubleshoots problems and calls service or vendor technical support when needed.
  • **This is a supervisory position**
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology or Associate degree in clinical laboratory science or medical technology program.
  • Clinical Laboratory Technologist License issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in clinical laboratory with bachelor's degree or a minimum of 4 years of experience with Master's degree.
