Main Duties & Responsibilities
This
position is predominately focused (70%) on managing day-to-day customs and
logistics tasks, reporting, and support compliance operations. This role will
also be responsible (30%) for our environmental reporting and global travel
program management. This role will initially be predominately an administrative
position and is required to be on-site at least 2 days at the Bloomfield
Hills, MI location. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Customs
- Participate in annual
internal compliance audit for previous years imports (~50 entries).
Includes: Broker compliance, recordkeeping, valuation, assists,
classification, special trade program qualifications, section 232 and 301
duties, and related parties. - Conduct monthly ISF audit
for late filings out of ACE. - Monthly reporting out of
ACE and separate by plant and duty type, along with ACH amounts due by
facility. - Support Logistics Director
in Export Compliance reviews with focus on ITAR facilities. - Maintain customs and
logistics policy at corporate level and participate in annual trainings.
- Logistics
- Work with freight audit
& payment company. Work with plants on issues and invoice uploads,
exceptions, rate adjustments. - Monthly data review and
report out to plants (4 reports). - Monitor daily expedites
including bidding out of any air freight or one time ocean moves.
Manage carrier, broker,
and forwarder compliance (C-TPAT membership, insurance, operating
authority, on-time reporting, etc.) - Support annual bids (all
modes of transport) conducted by the Director of Logistics. - Issue relevant routing
instructions.
- Environmental
- Monitor data entry into
VelocityEHS system from the locations and coordinate with division EHS
leaders to assure timely compliance with due dates. - Conduct annual audit of
VelocityEHS metric data entries from each location for reasonableness and
alignment to attached supporting documentation and follow up with
locations until completeness and accuracy are validated. - Assimilate data from all
locations, convert to standardized units as necessary, calculate
emissions, and report environmental metric totals at the corporate and
divisional levels - Prepare monthly safety
metrics report senior leadership. - Prepare annual safety
metrics for Sustainability Report.
- Travel
- Implement AMEX Global
Business Travel for all global locations replacing FCM. - Manage communication with
all global facilities regarding travel policy or issues. - Address any concerns with
Rental Car company contract or travel program. - Identify opportunities for
savings - airlines, local hotel agreements, AMEX GBT air re-shops. Track
savings.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Possess some data
analytical skills. - Understanding of domestic
and international logistics and warehousing. - Excel, PowerPoint, Visio,
Project, Power BI intermediate skill set. - Organization, Communication
and follow-up are critical.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 1-2 years of
professional work experience.
