The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

At WGU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

Grade: Professional 309 Pay Range: $80,300.00 - $120,400.00

Job Description

The Senior Account Executive furthers WGU's mission of creating pathways to opportunity at scale by serving the talent management objectives of organizations across the country in assigned national partnership verticals. By expertly positioning WGU as the premier partner of workforce development solutions, this position will drive new partner acquisition, leveraging WGU's comprehensive portfolio of academic programs and services, including degree programs, short-form credentials, experiential learning, and other educational solutions designed to meet workforce needs of employers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Explore new partnerships to increase WGU's reach and educational impact.

  • May deliver sales presentations to potential partner organizations with the sales acumen that incorporates WGU's "flywheel" approach.

  • Research, recommend, and attend and participate in appropriate regional, professional organizations or events to represent WGU and extend reach.

  • Incorporate consistent utilization of marketing and partnership communication that will enhance WGU being top of mind for educational opportunities.

  • Develop and execute Regional and/or National WGU hosted events. Participation includes pre-event efforts to secure new potential partner participation and marketing of the event to appropriate audiences, support the day-of activities and complete follow-up tasks.

  • Strategy development for Regional and/or National marketing initiatives that support local and broader WGU strategic operations.

  • Maintain timely, accurate and thorough documentation of all activities, tasks, contacts and account management.

  • Develop, orient and support engaged alumni to represent WGU in regional and/or national events, within their places of employment, or, with other opportunities.

  • Effectively handle highly complex work initiatives that span regional and/or national footprints.

  • Mentor and share best practices with new Account Executives.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Five (5) or more years demonstrated success in strategic partnership development, account expansion and management in the healthcare industry

  • Five or more years in consultative, solution-based sales

  • Ability to operate with a high level of autonomy in a remote environment

  • Proven experience developing a network of executive healthcare stakeholders, such as CNOs, HR leaders, or L&D teams, ideally in the Texas market

  • Located in the Dallas or Houston area

  • Ability to travel up to 60%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in business development and strategic partnership management with a record of high performance in solution selling across multiple industry verticals.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Position & Application Details
