YOUR ROLE

CEVALogistics is currently hiring aBenefits Specialistlocated inHouston, TX. The Benefits Specialist is responsible fordaily administration of the company'sHealth & Welfare Benefit plans including Leave of Absence,Wellnessand 401k offerings inaccordance with plan guidelines, company policies and applicable federal and state regulations

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Leave of Absence (LOA) Administration



  • Administer employee LOAs including Short Term and Long-Term Disability Plans.
  • Ensure leave details align between LOA vendor and internal employee database.
  • Work corroboratively with supervisors and employees to comply with ADAAA requests, LTD transitions and return the employee to work at the appropriate time.


  • Identify STD requests that are for on-the-job injuries or illnesses and coordinate with Workers' Compensation to redirect the request for proper processing.



Health & Welfare Benefits Administration



  • Provide administrative and transactional support services for employees' health and financial benefit plans.
  • Assist with the coordination of compliance and audit activities for the benefit and retirement plans.
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of process improvements.
  • Help resolve complex benefits issues including appeals.
  • Support the development and review of benefit communications.
  • Assists with the management of the LOA and Benefit email boxes.
  • Support benefits accounting procedures and track benefit costs against budget



WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education and Experience



  • High School Degree or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources or related field preferred.
  • Minimum one to three years related benefits experience required



Languages and Communication Skills



  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently



Computer Skills



  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and specific job-related software applications.



Other Skills/Experience



  • Work with health plans, vendors and key carrier contacts to resolve employee issues.


  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulations related to HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, etc as well asHealth and Welfare plans including reporting changes to management.
  • Ability to manage complex or emotional employee situations promptly and professionally meeting commitments for confidentiality, service and assistance.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret highly complex regulations and procedures, and respond to common inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to generate error-free reports.
  • Demonstrated positive attitude and customer-focused orientation.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop alternative solutions.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential documents and information.
  • Contributes to the positive team spirit putting team success above own interests.
  • Utilizes reliable, consistent research and follow-up skills.
  • Must have good organizational skills and be able to meet deadlines and complete all projects in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
