The Senior Staff Production Engineer, working independently with limited supervision, is responsible for performing business planning, well performance monitoring, project management, and opportunity exploitation associated with managing the performance and growth of assets for highly complex production projects. The role assists with complex engineering studies using advanced engineering concepts. The role leads continuous improvement initiatives and implements ongoing improvement strategies to optimize production operations. The role focuses on safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence, to contribute to the success of the organization's production activities. The role contributes to field development planning efforts, ensuring optimal well placement and production infrastructure design. The role is pivotal in monitoring well performance, implementing production enhancement techniques, and managing production assets to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.

Job Description

* Provides technical recommendations and support for the operation and maintenance of onshore oil and gas leases and wells to produce the highest profitable volumes of oil and gas.
* Builds technical recommendations and provides business case to leadership in a concise, constructive, knowledgeable format that includes detailed implications for risk, business priorities and value; and includes full consideration of technical, timing, and internal/external stakeholder impacts.
* Monitors operating expenses to identify and control high-cost areas to maintain lifting cost at the optimal level and prepares and reviews annual volume and expense budgets.
* Monitors well tests and production volumes to maintain and improve production.
* Uses experience and extensive knowledge of technical principles, theories, and concepts to contribute to multiple and mostly complex issues/projects, guides multiple complex projects, mentors team members, and prioritizes safety with a focus on EHS considerations.
* Interacts daily with production foremen, pumpers, and service companies and ensures that field operations are being conducted in compliance with all applicable state/province and federal laws and regulations.
* Prepares and reviews authorizations for expenditures and procedures for the production portion of new well construction (flowback, tube-ups) as well as remedial well work.
* Establishes influential relationships, mentors collaboration, and contributes industry knowledge through presentations.
* Leads and prioritizes projects, advises on project management, and provides strategic recommendations, considering risks and business impacts.
* Identifies opportunities for process improvement and implements best practices to enhance production efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
* Contributes to field development planning efforts by providing technical input on well placement, spacing, artificial lift strategies, and production infrastructure design.

Education:
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.

Experience:
* 7+ years of relevant industry experience, preferably in Production Engineering.

* Artificial lift design and optimization experience is required - preferably Gas Lift, Rod Pump, ESP, and Jet Pump.

* Experience with tools such as Spotfire, PowerBI, PiVision is preferred.
