Come join a vibrant Midwifery Practice with a long history in an integrated academic health network in the beautiful state of Vermont! The University of Vermont Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nurse Midwife to join our dynamic and cohesive team of nine CNMs. While practicing the career you love, live among the Green Mountains in scenic Northern Vermont with easy access to skiing, hiking, and biking. Enjoy swimming and boating on gorgeous Lake Champlain and our state's numerous other rivers and reservoirs.

UVMMC's Obstetrics & Midwifery practice cares for low to moderately high-risk patients while attending approximately 500 births per year. Key responsibilities include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care in two outpatient clinic settings, as well as on-call coverage of two 12-hr shifts per week with L&D. The practice is predominantly OB care with excellent in-house backup and easy access to MFM consultation. As part of the University of Vermont's academic practice, we are also educators and teach midwifery, nurse practitioners, medical students, and resident interns. We are actively involved in research projects and quality improvement initiatives.

This is a 1.0 FTE exempt bargaining-unit position. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of one-year of full-time full-scope midwifery experience, although new graduates will be considered. Education, Licensure, and Certifications

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in Nursing

  • Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)

  • Active or pending RN and APRN licenses in the State of Vermont

  • Current NRP and BLS certifications
