The University of California, Merced is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The salary range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. Job Closing Date

Reporting to the Director of Data Services, this position is responsible for maintaining mission-critical databases and data integrations, while strategically guiding the transition of legacy pipelines to cloud-native platforms. This position applies advanced database administration concepts and campus objectives to resolve highly complex issues where analysis of options, issues, and data require an in-depth evaluation. Under general direction by the Director and the AVC of Data, Analytics, and Campus Business Processes, this position serves as UC Merced's technical lead for Oracle database environments - both on-premises and AWS-hosted - and provides specialized support for Oracle Data Integrator (ODI). This position collaborates with AWS Cloud Engineers, Data Engineers, and enterprise system owners to support reliable, secure, and scalable data architecture.
