In-Service Combat System Engineer-Subject Matter Expert
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a In-Service Combat System Engineer SME who will provide key support to Combat Systems and Missile Test Planning and Solutions Development as well as In-Service Engineering Expertise at our Port Hueneme, CA location and/or Remote.
Job Description:
- Act as the subject matter expert and consultant to the government and for the company divisions regarding combat system and weapons test strategies, test planning, test asset development and usage, test capabilities, LVC test systems, targets, and instrumentation.
- Be the senior advisor to the government and to company divisions regarding combat system advancements including (but not limited to) comprehensive program planning with specific emphasis on fielding and support.
- Lead and manage related projects including (but not limited to): Plan, schedule, direct, and approve all work assigned to the project and assure that quality products are delivered on time and within budget.
- Plan, conduct, and direct projects including coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical staff in the performance of assigned tasks.
- Identify and develop marketing and business plans for targeted opportunities that fall within the capabilities of the Company.
- Perform high level engineering support on military systems requiring comprehensive knowledge and training on specialty systems.
- Develop and apply advanced methods in the investigation and finds solutions of difficult military system design requirements and problems.
- Develop, mentor, train and evaluate staff to maximize their career potential.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree (preferably in STEM or Mathematics) and at least 10 years of hands-on specialized experience in specialty systems.
- Must have experience with Navy embedded and distributed tactical training systems.
- Must have at least 10 years of experience planning and conducting live-fire combat system tests on-range.
- Must have at least 10 years of experience in combat system testing using embedded and/or external stimulation (LVC).
- Must have at least 10 years of experience in supporting deployed combat systems and maintaining system readiness.
- Must have at least 10 years of experience managing government projects and coordinating government budgets.
Desired Qualifications:
- Prefer Naval combat systems engineering and test systems.
- Prefer at least 20 years of experience in combat systems engineering and test -Naval systems preferred.
- Experience at sea riding Navy ships during combat system events preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with Ballistic Missile Defense systems and organizations
- Prefer experience in Life-Cycle engineering and logistics, specifically in Naval warfare systems.
Security Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance and base access.
Travel Requirements:
- Occasional travel- up to 20%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Pay Range: $215,000 - $235,000 per year |
