Job Description

The Vice President, Acceptance Risk Authentication reports to the SVP of Visa's Global Risk Acceptance Platforms and Products. This role is responsible for the strategy, commercialization, and delivery of the Authentication Risk Platform designed for acquirers. The Vice President will be responsible for automating processes in Visa's Acceptance Risk Platform to proactively identify fraudulent activity enabling customers greater and smoother transaction experience.

The Vice President, Acceptance Risk Authentication is passionate about fraud prevention and ecommerce growth by applying AI to impact sales outcomes and a strong marketable platform. This individual must have a deep understanding of Acceptance Risk and the ecommerce payments ecosystem. The Vice President will be critical in defining the future of fraud and risk mitigation on a global scale. While this individual will lead the Acceptance Risk Authentication platform, they will need to demonstrate an appreciation for payments risk holistically and always take a broad perspective on the opportunities for the business.

The ideal candidate must have significant experience in fraud prevention and product strategy. They should have experience developing, configuring, and commercializing fraud solutions that are designed for the digital merchant community. Strong Artificial Intelligence knowledge and development acumen and data insights are necessary to drive this platform.

This is a senior leadership role that is expected to work across the organization cross-functionally and globally, developing key internal partnerships, achieving results through influence, and executing through collaboration. This role requires a client-focused mindset with the perseverance to drive longer-term change outside of direct reporting lines. The VP leads a strong and cohesive team by providing leadership through coaching, setting strategic direction, and sharing working knowledge of Visa and commercial products, systems and operations.This position may require occasional travel to client sites and Visa locations around the globe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute platform strategies for target ecommerce verticals that leverage differentiated positioning to create engagement across a wide range of networks and products
  • Set the standard for the authentication, pre-ecommerce transaction ensuring seamless integration and user adoption
  • Manages a team of professionals through leading by example and setting development and leadership goals for direct reports
  • Holds direct reports accountable by utilizing the Visa Leadership Principles
  • Partner cross-functionally with leaders in technology, sales, partnerships, and marketing to establish priorities
  • Simplify complicated analyses to communicate clear performance narratives to executive leadership
  • Set a vision and strategy for growing the authentication platform for acquirer use including synthesizing market needs, roadmap creation, communication, and customer and product enablement

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

- 12 or more years of work experience with a bachelor's Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD

- Able to build relationships and gain exposure to internal and external client leadership teams through demonstrating key domain expertise

- Exceedingly strong passion for payment fraud space, data management and analysis

- Industry experience with commercial and B2B payments, payments networks and processing services that support highly complex clients

- Expert strategic ability to solve complex, global cross-functional issues exercising critical thinking and sound judgment

- Proven ability to leverage AI in the fraud space identifying acquirer onboarding and risk enhancements

- Familiarity with authentication process for acquirers' pre-transaction stage

Preferred Qualifications

- 15 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, PhD)

- Proven track record of leading and driving teams to achieve and exceed established goals and objectives

- Strong track record of building and maintaining strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders at executive management levels

- Experience leading large multi-functional teams through software development and commercialization efforts

- Proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, influence others, and manage customer expectation

- Strong understanding of Information Technology, Security, Compliance, Business Continuity methodology, and Service Management concepts

- Ability to present technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels (including to executives) internally and externally to support issues, strategic organizational plans, process improvement, etc. This includes translating complex technical issues into business terms.

- Confident public speaker

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 222,600.00 to 347,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
