The Opportunity:

The Florida Center for Students with Unique Abilities at the College of Community Innovation and Education invites applicants for the Program Assistant Director for Technical Assistance position. In providing leadership, the Program Assistant Director for Technical Assistance will provide technical assistance to provide strategic planning to Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Programs (FPCTPs), support implementation and sustainability, monitor program and student reporting for FPCTPs at Florida state colleges, career technical centers/colleges, and universities as directed in the Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program Act (f.s. 1004.6495). The Program Assistant Director will lead professional development as well as present comprehensive transition and postsecondary (CTP) program effective practices.

Responsibilities:


  • Support state universities, colleges, technical colleges, and private not-for-profit colleges and universities with Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program application development and state approval process of program applications, grant proposals, and student scholarships to meet legislative requirements of the Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program Act (f.s. 1004.6495).

  • Responsible for providing technical assistance to approved 33 Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Programs in the areas of annual reporting on program implementation, student reporting, student follow-up reporting for 5 years, FPCTP Grant Annual Performance Reports, and FPCTP Final Performance Reports as required in the Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program Act (f.s. 1004.6495).

  • Provide support to the Program Director I with annual reporting review for all approved Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Programs, FPCTP Grant Annual Performance Reports and FPCTP Final Performance Reports as required in the Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program Act (f.s. 1004.6495) to be reported to the governor.

  • Provide facilitation and coordination of professional development activities related to Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program strategic planning, application, and grant processes at state universities, colleges, technical colleges, and private not-for-profit colleges and universities to meet legislative requirements of the Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program Act (f.s. 1004.6495).

  • Assist with outreach efforts with a specific focus on dissemination of evidence-based and promising practices that promote success for students with disabilities and with intellectual disabilities in postsecondary education and Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Programs.

  • Responsible for supporting the development of evaluation plans to assess the effectiveness of strategic planning, implementation, and analysis Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Programs' to continuously improve programs and the Center's efforts to fulfill the Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Program Act (f.s. 1004.6495).

  • Provide technical assistance to approved Florida Postsecondary Comprehensive Transition Programs and other institutions of higher education in the development process on the federal comprehensive transition and postsecondary (CTP) program requirements. At state universities, colleges, technical colleges, and private not-for-profit colleges and universities.

  • Research, writing, editing, and proofing publications, supervising post-doctoral scholars and Graduate Research Assistants, and other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219.Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Experience supporting students with intellectual disabilities in educational or support settings.

  • Experience providing technical assistance, supporting strategic planning efforts, or contributing to program evaluation and development.

  • Experience supporting postsecondary transition services and assisting students with planning and preparation.

  • Background in designing and delivering professional development for educators, administrators, or program staff.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing and communication, particularly for reports or grant-related documents.

  • Experienced in working collaboratively with stakeholders across educational institutions, government agencies, and community organizations.

Special Instructions to the Applicants:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $75,809 - $94,761. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
