Job Summary:

To provide analytical support for preformulation studies (e.g., solubility or compatibility studies, release of raw materials, characterization of drug substance), including maintaining proper documentation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:



  • Perform sample analysis using different instruments such as HPLC, particle size analyzer, microscope in an analytical environment.
  • Perform release testing conducted at Supernus for raw materials, API and packaging components.
  • Maintain lab notebooks and logbooks in accordance with company guidelines designed to comply with cGMP.
  • Perform peer review of laboratory notebooks for analytical procedures chemist is trained on.
  • Perform data report writing assignments as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Non-Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Assist, when necessary, for the calibration of laboratory instruments.
  • May assist with additional laboratory duties (e.g., reference standard inventory, retain sample inventory, waste disposal).
  • May assist with method development and validation activities.
  • Update written procedures (SOPs) related to PFS activities when needed.
  • Revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to PFS activities when needed and PFS test methods (TMs).

Knowledge & Other Qualifications:



  • Science degree required (preferred Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Pharmaceutical Sciences).
  • Minimum BS with 0+ years of experience.
  • Detail oriented, strong laboratory documentation skills is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of HPLC quantitative analysis and working knowledge of wet chemistry is a plus.
  • Experience with method development, validation, and/or calibration is a plus.
  • Good laboratory documentation skill and GMP knowledge is a plus.
  • Good communication skills in English language (writing, speaking, comprehending).
  • Basic computer skills - knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, knowledge of analytical instrument software(s) such as Empower or LIMS is a plus.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:



  • Position may require prolonged sitting, prolonged standing, balancing, stooping, bending, and crouching; the ability to push, pull, drag and/or lift up to 20 pounds; normal manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading.
  • The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Will be required to work in a clean and/or sterile laboratory environment occasionally, and wear personal protective equipment to include but not limited to: gloves, safety glasses or goggles, face shields, lab coats, aprons, ear plugs and dust masks.


Compensation:

At Supernus, we offer a competitive compensation package that reflects your experiences and contributions. The expected salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this role is $47,000 to $63,000. This range is what the Company reasonably expects to offer for the position and is not reflective of the full compensation scale of the role. This range may be modified in the future. An individual's salary within the range is based on multiple factors, which may include and are not limited to education, relevant experience, knowledge, length of industry experience and organizational needs.

Base salary is one part of the overall compensation package, which includes the opportunity to participate in employee stock purchase programs and performance-based bonus programs.
