Description The Sr. Corporate Communications Specialist will plan, develop, execute, and oversee execution of employee and business communication activities and plans to further Children's mission, vision, and strategic plan. Will write, develop, disseminate and edit multiple forms of communication content and activities for Children's employees. Will assume lead on critical body of work for the department and act as responsible point person for projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or Communications (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
5 years (Required)

5 - 8 years in communications, strongly preferred

Required Skills/Knowledge
Basic project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Ability to work autonomously and offer solutions to problems.
Consistently able to display independent thinking and assume responsibility for projects.
Displays sound judgment and is able to make independent decisions guided by the business goals of the department and organization.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize workload.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including AP Style.
Knowledge of MS Office.
Basic experience with video editing and design software.
Experience with Sharepoint and newsletter content management systems.

Functional Accountabilities



  • Develop strategic and effective communication messages and plans.


  • Manage prioritization of messages/information to ensure employees receive timely information.


  • Work with key stakeholders within the organization to establish and create effective employee communication programs to engage employees.


  • Create and use tools to measure and monitor the effectiveness of communication initiatives.


  • Monitor industry trends and best practices and integrate into planning.


  • Develop and execute internal communication material/tactics.


  • Write, edit, and produce a variety of content, such as articles, intranet content, email, human interest stories, videos, photo galleries, business articles, collateral, talking points, and other communications.


  • Write clear , compelling prose in different styles, voices, and tones to most effectively communicate to multiple audiences; provide such content timely and to be impactful to more than 6,500 employees.


  • Recognize the business impact/element of communication content and articulate business concepts and organizational priorities into communication content.


  • Support employee engagement programs through effective communication.


  • Serve as a communication consultant/liaison to organization stakeholders.


  • Serve as a consultant to various teams and committees to develop and execute communications.


  • Recommend and implement strategies and tactics to meet team's goals and enhance Children's strategic goals.


  • Build relationships with key stakeholders; develop and maintain strong working relationships with departments to ensure consistent content, messaging and timing of communications plans.


  • Utilize a variety of channels to effectively communicate news.


  • Utilize a variety of communication channels, such as Intranet, publications, video, photo galleries, etc. to engage and inform employees.


  • Identify , leverage and integrate platforms to increase the effectiveness and timeliness of internal communication.


  • Explore new and innovative channels to communicate, such as videos, photos, podcasts, blogs, message boards, Intranet functionality, etc.


  • Assist in the response to crisis situations to develop messages to communicate with employees in crisis/emergency situations.


  • Coordinate logistics and communication of special events.
