Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Position Summary:
We are seeking a Small Quantity Hazmat Shipper to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and compliant shipment of hazardous materials in small quantities, including raw ingredients, compounded concentrates, and flavor extracts. Working in a GMP-regulated environment, you will support internal and external partners by ensuring timely and accurate shipping practices that meet all regulatory and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, package, and label hazardous materials in accordance with DOT (49 CFR), IATA, and internal SOPs
Collect small-quantity samples from GMP manufacturing areas
Complete and maintain accurate shipping documentation (SDS, declarations, tracking)
Apply correct hazard classifications and procedures based on regulations and GMP standards
Schedule shipments with logistics providers and track deliveries
Maintain inventory of UN-approved containers, absorbents, labels, and shipping supplies
Ensure compliance with GMP standards for labeling, documentation, and traceability
Participate in safety training and maintain certifications
Assist with material transfers and staging; forklift experience is a plus
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred
DOT and IATA certification (or willingness to obtain)
Familiarity with GMP shipping protocols and documentation
Ability to interpret SDS and labeling requirements
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory/logistics software
Forklift experience or certification preferred
Work Environment:
Office and GMP manufacturing environment
Handling of small chemical containers and packaging materials
May require lifting up to 50 lbs and operating material handling equipment
Must follow all PPE and safety protocols
