We are seeking an Interim CEO - Digital Marketing to guide the organization through the carve-out transition and position the business for sustainable growth. The ideal candidate will have executive experience in digital marketing or lead generation businesses and a strong understanding of the blue-collar SME customer base. Experience navigating post-acquisition carve-outs and establishing standalone business operations is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the company through a successful carve-out transition from a larger parent organization, standing up independent systems, teams, and reporting structures.
  • Provide strategic vision and operational leadership across both agency services and lead generation functions.
  • Build trust with existing clients (blue-collar SMBs) and refine the value proposition to drive customer growth and retention.
  • Drive organizational performance, EBITDA improvement, and digital capability expansion.
  • Oversee and align key functions including marketing, sales, tech, and finance.
  • Develop and mentor the internal leadership team; assess any talent or structure gaps post-carve-out.
  • Serve as point of contact with the private equity firm and align execution with growth and return objectives.
  • Evaluate long-term potential and, if mutually aligned, step into a permanent CEO role.

Qualifications

  • Proven success as a CEO, President, or GM in a digital marketing, lead generation, or performance marketing business.
  • Strong familiarity with the blue-collar / home services / contractor SMB market.
  • Experience in private equity environments and particularly with carve-outs or transitional leadership.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing strategies (SEO, SEM, paid social, local search, website design, conversion funnels, etc.).
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to manage P&L and EBITDA targets in a mid-market business.
  • Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style with a bias for execution and accountability.
  • Midwest-based preferred, but remote candidates considered
