Reports to: Director of Hotel Operations / Chief Engineer, position is non-exempt

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Uphold and role model the company's principles of People, Place and to ensure the experiences of translocal hospitality, intuitive service, and collaboration
- Maintain a good working relationship with other associates by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working environment
- Handle routine maintenance, repairs and cleanliness in guest rooms, public spaces, event space, outlets, back of house spaces and grounds
- Demonstrate familiarity with the hotel's safety systems and takes corrective action on any maintenance or operating problems which affect the security or operating condition of the hotel
- Participate in the room preventative maintenance program
- Use your skills and intuition to detect equipment malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair
- Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment and furnishings as needed
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards; Participate in all scheduled training classes and meetings
- Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs
- Assist in delivery and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, etc.
- Communicate with Chief Operating Engineer on projects as assigned
- Respond to all guest requests in a timely and personable manner
- Provide valet parking services to safely and efficiently transport guest vehicles to designated parking areas
- Demonstrate a caring understanding of guest service needs, exceeding guest expectations by looking for opportunities to add a special touch
- Warmly greet guests who arrive to the hotel by opening their car door and welcoming them to the hotel
- Carefully unload guest luggage from vehicles
- Demonstrate a keen attention to detail, accurately processing tickets and auditing throughout the shift to ensure a seamless guest experience
- Interact with guests in the lobby, demonstrating sincere hospitality
- Take pride in ensuring that the front drive and entrance is kept clean and inviting, reflecting a genuine care for a positive first impression
- Accurately handle payment transactions and cash drops
- Recognize and engage positively with repeat guests
- Demonstrate the ability to work well unsupervised
- Operate in fluid communication with the Guest Services team and other departments in the hotel to ensure a smooth guest experience
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- A minimum of one year of experience in a guest services environment is preferred
- Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language for engaging with guests and report writing
- A current valid driver's license
- An ability to drive cars, trucks, SUV's, with the ability to drive a manual transmission
- Knowledge of the local area to provide directions and recommendations is preferred
- An ability to work varying schedules, likely to include nights and/or weekends, to reflect the business needs of the hotel
- Proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods, bend, climb stairs and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work by yourself, lead yourself, make it count!
- Ability to work varied shifts, that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
